Career
Kelly is a Director, Solicitor and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney at McDaniels Law, with experience across a range of IP matters and with particular expertise in Trade Mark, Copyright and Design matters. This work includes both dealing with protection strategies and also enforcement and litigation matters having conducted cases on clients’ behalf in the Court of Appeal, High Court and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and is known for her robust approach to litigation.
Kelly has significant experience in Trade Mark matters including filing and prosecution of UK, CTM, foreign and Madrid trade mark applications, trade mark opposition and cancellation proceedings. In July 2015 she dual qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, further expanding her IP expertise. Previously, Kelly worked on secondment one day per week with a major UK fashion brand over a three year period and therefore has a significant understanding of brand management and development issues from a business perspective.
Her client base spans a wide range of sectors and she prides herself on having many longstanding clients whom she has worked with for a number of years.
Personal
Kelly graduated university in 2008 with a First Class LLB Hons. Exempting Degree in Law and was awarded the prize for best overall performance on her degree on graduation. Cross qualified as a trade mark attorney in 2015 through courses at Queen Mary University of London and Nottingham Trent University.
