Practice Areas
Principal areas of practice are regulatory, inquests and inquiries, licensing and complementary aspects of public and civil law.
A comprehensive range of regulatory crime and business compliance work is undertaken, including: health and safety; fire safety; trade and consumer; environmental and food law.
He has been instructed by those under scrutiny in seminal inquests and inquiries. He acted for The Football Association throughout the Hillsborough Inquests. He represented a company involved in the refurbishment of the Tower throughout the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry. He is advising a company in relation to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.
His licensing instructions cover areas of business subject to statutory licensing regimes (e.g. energy and finance) as well as entertainment, alcohol and transport.
His complementary civil practice includes public/employer/product liability and nuisance.
He now principally advises and represents significant corporations and their officers. However, given the depth and breadth of his experience, national regulators, local authorities and trading standards departments continue to instruct him in appropriate cases.

Lee Bennett is an experienced consumer lawyer who regularly advises on consumer protection, product liability, trademark and counterfeiting cases. Recently, he has been working on the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry regarding potential product liability concerning systems and components installed during the refurbishment of the Tower.
The majority of Lee Bennett's busy practice is devoted to defending corporations, their directors and local authorities against the HSE in regulatory matters pertaining to serious and fatal accidents within the workplace. He also has experience in non-workplace incidents, including those related to construction.
