Practice Areas

Leisha is an exceptional advocate who deals exclusively in the breakdown of relationships, in particular financial provision on divorce. Her cases often run into millions of pounds and involve businesses, property portfolios, large pensions and intervenors. However she also acts in more modest cases where, although the assets are not substantial, the stakes are high for the parties (maintaining a roof over his/her head). She also acts in Children Act proceedings which are sometimes heard 'back to back' with the financial proceedings. Leisha also undertakes Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act and Schedule One cases. Leisha has a reputation as 'a fighter' where settlement is not in her client’s interest but she will advise realistically and negotiate hard. She is renowned for her thorough preparation and penetrative cross examination. She is a 'no nonsense' barrister. Her style is direct. Her results are impressive. Clients love her.

Career

University of Birmingham and University of Limoges (Law and French) 2:1; Jules Thorne Scholar, Middle Temple; Called to the Bar 1999. Leisha regularly writes and presents lectures to solicitors and barristers. She also blogs about legal matters.

Professional Memberships

Family Law Bar Association.

Personal

Married with a teenage son. The world's worst surfer and an enthusiastic, if mediocre, climber. Speaks French. Learning (basic) Italian.
