Leonardo is a senior associate at the firm, having practiced in the field of Antitrust & Competition for over 9 years. He has been engaged in handling complex mergers and antitrust investigations, primarily involving multinational corporations across various industries – ranging from beverages and digital markets to finance, construction, steel, freight forwarding, transport, paper, consumer goods, among others.
Furthermore, Leonardo is proficient in managing complex antitrust litigation cases, which encompass the annulment of dawn raids, private enforcement, injunctions, and the annulment of decisions from the Competition Authority. He is also well-versed in addressing intricate regulatory issues, which fall within his professional scope.
Leonardo holds an LLB with honors from the University of São Paulo (USP), an LLM degree from the University of Cambridge, and a Master's in Economic Law from the University of São Paulo (USP). Currently pursuing a PhD in Economic Regulation and Algorithms at the University of São Paulo, he has also served as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. Additionally, Leonardo is a member of the editorial boards at the Cambridge International Journal, IBRAC’s Review, and FDRP Academic Journal. He has authored papers on Antitrust, Law & Economics, and Law Tech, demonstrating his scholarly contributions.
