Luis Fernando Prado is co-founder at Prado Vidigal Advogados. He is widely recognised for his significant contributions to the legal field, with a focus on innovation and regulatory compliance.

Luis holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in Digital Law from the Universitat de Barcelona and is a specialist in Intellectual Property from FGV/SP. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

His professional accolades include being named a 'Rising Star' in data protection by Leaders League for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021), being recognised as one of the country's most admired lawyers by Análise in recent years, and being honoured as 'Leading Author for Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) - Central and South America' by Lexology in 2019.

Luis has authored several influential books, including 'Digital Compliance and LGPD' (Thomson Reuters), 'Comments on the GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union' (Thomson Reuters), 'LGPD Commentary' (Thomson Reuters), and 'Relevant Topics in Digital Law' (IASP).

At Prado Vidigal, since August 2020, Luis has been at the forefront of providing expert legal counsel in digital law and data protection. He is also a co-founder of Capacidados, a privacy learning company, further showcasing his commitment to education in the privacy sector.

Luis's academic involvement is extensive. He is a guest professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), teaching in the Data Protection Officer course, and at Damásio Educacional, in their postgraduate programme in Data Protection. He has also served as a guest professor at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar) and Insper.

In addition to his practice and teaching, Luis actively participates in public consultations and legislative debates on AI regulation, contributing his legal and regulatory expertise as an advisor for the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Association (ABRIA).

His earlier roles include being a partner at Daniel Law, where he was responsible for the Cyberlaw, Privacy, and Data Protection practices, and founding the privacy and data protection practice at Opice Blum Advogados.

Luis also contributed as an external researcher at FGV’s Research and Teaching Group on Innovation (GEPI), where he played a pivotal role in the development of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
