Career

Orla is a specialist family barrister with substantial experience across all areas of family law and is renowned for her knowledge and expertise.

Orla is particularly adept at dealing with cases involving allegations of very serious abuse including cases involving the death of a child, the murder of a parent, non-accidental injuries, sexual abuse, fabricated or induced illness radicalisation and demonisation.

She also has considerable experience of cases involving parental alienation, child abduction, immigration and cross-jurisdictional issues (including relocation to and return of children from foreign states) in both public law and private law matters.

Orla is recognised for her meticulous preparation and ability to assimilate and analyse substantial volumes of paperwork. She uses her comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant law and procedure to challenge evidence and advance her clients’ cases effectively. She is very experienced at cross-examining professional witnesses and experts.
