Instructed by all the leading state prosecuting authorities in the UK, domestic and international clients including regular representation on behalf of third parties [corporate and individuals] and defendants in proceedings relating to restraint, trials [including criminal], family proceedings [financial only] and/or realisation of assets; including cases arising both before and after criminal convictions or in civil cases alleging wrongdoing. Particular expertise in cases where there is an alleged background of money laundering. Specialises in domestic and international fraud, bribery, corruption and money laundering. Provides practical and commercially sound advice often at short notice to individuals, companies and solicitors’ firms who find themselves caught up in civil or criminal investigations, with particular experience in cases where parties have been served with statutory or court ordered requests for disclosure of information and/or those who have been impacted by civil freezing and/or criminal restraint orders. Has an established track record in defending clients and third parties facing issues pertaining to asset recovery in respect of multi-million claims and/or criminal confiscation orders. Has extensive history of work relating to cross border co-operation and asset recovery. Has experience of extradition related matters arising in a UK oversees dependant territory. Provides nuanced assistance in the drafting of documentation connected with the operation of the UK SAR regime.
