Philip is a senior consultant in Dentons' Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group based in Hong Kong.

Philip is a Solicitor-Advocate with a right of audience in the Hong Kong Courts. Philip has over 40 years of experience in Hong Kong advising clients on some of the largest and most complex litigation and dispute resolution matters. He has handled many complicated cases for government organizations, public and private corporations, statutory bodies, employers, engineers, architects, contractors and subcontractors, involving a full range of contentious and non-contentious construction matters. Philip also represents clients in construction-related criminal investigations and prosecutions. Philip has advised clients on the contract documentation for a wide range of infrastructure and development projects. He also regularly assists clients in pursuing and/or defending claims for additional time and costs on such projects.

While having a special focus on construction litigation and arbitration, Philip is also a very experienced arbitrator and has been appointed as arbitrator in over a hundred cases over the last three decades, mainly in construction related cases. Philip also has significant experience in construction related adjudication and mediation and is on the HKIAC Panel of Adjudicators and is an HKIAC Accredited Mediator.

Philip is a member of the HKIAC, CIETAC, AALCO, SCIA and Law Society Panels of Arbitrators. He is a former member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and was Chairman of the Housing Aurhority Building Committee for 4 years. He has been awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star and is a Justice of the Peace.

Philip has been recognised as a “Senior Statesperson” in construction by Chambers Greater China for a number of years including in the 2024 edition. A client commented, “He is certainly a very senior and well-respected person in the industry."
