SAM NEWMAN represents companies and their owners in Chapter 11 cases--serving as debtor’s counsel for the Chapter 11 cases of ICON Aircraft, Inc.; Impel Pharmaceuticals; Tricida, Inc. (2023 Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year); and Wave Computing, Inc. (Information Technology Deal of the Year). He also represents clients in out-of-court restructurings—serving as lead counsel for Ventec Life Systems in its sale to ReactHealth (2022 Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year). Mr. Newman also advises technology, healthcare/life-sciences, real estate, and hospitality clients in a wide variety of transactions involving distressed assets. In addition to the above, representative clients include Canyon Partners LLC, Fortress Investment Group LLC, Redmile Group, Fundamental Advisors LP, Capstone Investment Advisors, LLC, and Z Capital Management LLC.
