Sana is Head of Lenczner Slaght’s Intellectual Property Group. As a leader in IP litigation in Canada, her practice is comprised of large, high profile and/or cross-border IP litigation. Sana is registered in both the US and Canada as a patent agent, and is a Canadian trademark agent. She has represented clients at all levels of the Ontario and Federal courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and regularly provides strategic patent and regulatory advice. She also has extensive experience as part of international teams litigating large cross-border disputes. Sana is frequently invited to speak on topics in intellectual property, advocacy and diversity in the profession. Prior to entering private practice, Sana clerked for Justice Rosalie Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also held numerous volunteer leadership positions including Director and Secretary of the Writer’s Trust of Canada, President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association, and Director of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
