Serena has been described as having an ‘impressive forensic approach’, being an ‘extremely effective advocate’ and as having ‘extraordinary intelligence and judgment.’ Serena both prosecutes and defends and is highly regarded as leading counsel, a led junior or junior alone. Her practice in the UK focuses on homicide, organised crime, terrorism, fraud and sexual offences. She also has extensive expertise in war crimes and international criminal law and has previously worked for the United Nations in addition to spending several periods in her career building capacity within justice systems in conflict and post conflict environments on behalf of UK FCDO and international organisations.
