Career

Sónia Queiróz Vaz heads the IP practice, and co-heads TMT and Data Protection practices in Portugal. She joined Cuatrecasas in 2008.

She focuses in the drawing up and negotiation of contracts for the exploitation of intellectual property rights (particularly, licensing and transfer rights) in many fields (streaming, VOD, broadcasting, publishing, home video, merchandising, sponsorship, among others). She has vast experience in the area of the commercial exploration of audiovisual products both nationally and internationally. She has also provided multidisciplinary legal advice to undertakings in the retail, media and communication sector, content producers, advertisers and advertising agents. In the area of marketing and advertising, she has provided advice in connection with commercial activities, their respective licensing, providing assistance in questions relating to advertising law, consumer law, sponsorship, product placement, image and personality rights, among others.

Professional Memberships

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association. Representation of Cuatrecasas at the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Portugal.
