The family department offer a full range of services to both private and publicly funded clients with particular experience in finance and children matters, frequently acting on child arrangements orders and care proceedings, also experienced in advising on cases concerning relocation, abduction and assault.
The firm has the benefit of a Family Law Contract and a Mediation Contract with the Legal Aid Agency to enable the efficient delivery to those eligible for legal aid.

With over 30 years’ experience specialising in all aspects of Family Law, Susan’s passion for family law and a lifelong commitment and determination to try and make a positive difference to others lives, has been gained from her extensive knowledge, experience, understanding and compassion gained from working in the field of probation and social work for over 20 years.
Susan established Susan Howarth & Company in 1997 and at its heart is a belief that everyone has the right to access to justice and the need for excellence in client care and service delivery. In a legal world of mergers and takeovers she has a determination to remain independent by thriving on in-house expertise and an impressive reputation.
