Work Highlights
Advising a consortium of international lenders on the financing of BASF’s stake in the Hollandse Kust Zuid. Located in the North Sea, approximately 18km off the coast of the Netherlands, HKZ will, once fully operational, be the largest offshore wind farm in the world with 140 wind turbines and a total installed capacity of 1.5 gigawatts. The deal was awarded the IJGlobal Renewable Energy ESG Award – Europe 2022.
Advising an international syndicate of banks on a €570m financing package to finance the construction of the 257 MW Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm project in the Baltic sea.
Advising Encavis AG on the acquisition and a multicurrency €32m equivalent financing of two Danish solar parks from European Energy.
Advising a consortium of banks on the €988m financing of the “Deutsche Bucht” offshore wind farm project, on the €723m financing of the Trianel wind farm project “Borkum II” and on the €1bn financing of offshore wind farm “Veja Mate”.
Advising project company Talasol Solar S.L. and Israeli developer Ellomay Capital on the complex €131m project financing of the 300 MW photovoltaic plant in Spain’s Extremadura region.

Sven regularly advises lending groups on complex and large scale-projects in the renewable energy sector. He also advises on structured financings of infrastructure and real estate projects.

Sven is recommended as a leading projects lawyer for Germany by legal directories Chambers Europe 2019, 2020 and 2021 and Legal 500 EMEA 2018-19, with the latter highlighting his “ability to convey legal matters to non-lawyers”.
