Career
Attorney with more than 20 years in the practice of intellectual property, corporate, regulatory and related. She has combined her practice with civil, commercial and administrative litigation that affect the aforementioned areas of law.
She is a former career prosecutor of the Attorney General’s Office of the Dominican Republic and was in charge of the Litigation Department of a prestigious firm in the country, representing important local and international clients in the protection and defense of their intellectual rights.
Likewise, her career includes experience in applications and maintenance of patent of invention, utility models and industrial designs; registrations of distinctive signs, their renewals and modifying acts; copyright registration; obtaining and renewing sanitary registration, among others.
She has been recognized, in terms of intellectual property, by CHAMBERS, LEGAL 500 and WORLD TRADEMARK REVIEW.
She is professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in the subject of Trade and Intellectual Property in the Master of International Relations. Likewise, she has been a teacher in the Diploma of Intellectual Property of the Judicial Gazette and in the Summer Law School-ADED-Criminal Law.
She has participated as speaker in congresses and webinars of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI). In the same way, she has led outstanding projects in the Anti-Piracy Committees of said associations and has represented multinational companies in the training of notorious brands for prosecutors and DR authorities. She has written legal guides for well-known foreign and local companies and has published articles such as “Counterfeiting medicines, what to do?”, “Actions for infringement of the Industrial Property law in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code”, “Counterfeiting and piracy in the Dominican Republic”.
