Xavier Oberson is Professor of Swiss and International Tax Law at the University of Geneva since 1994. Professor Oberson also practices as an attorney-at-law, is a member of the Geneva bar since 1987, partner of OBERSON ABELS SA, in Geneva, Switzerland. In this context, he advises private clients, corporations or public institutions, notably in tax matters.
He is active in various associations, expert committees and foundations. In this context, he regularly drafts legal opinions, collaborates on various tax reforms and takes part in Parliament sessions.
In addition, he is Vice-President of the Board of the Foundation of Montreux Jazz Festival, President of the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation and President of the Board of the Foundation of the Grand Théâtre de Genève (Geneva opera).
