Specialising in banking, finance and financial services (including restructurings, derivatives, and structured finance); general commercial litigation; domestic and international sale of goods; energy and utilities; civil fraud and freezing injunctions; company and insolvency; jurisdiction and conflict of laws. Recent instructions include: acting for a large international metals trading group in multiple restructuring and insolvency proceedings in the UK, EU and Singapore; acting for one of the largest group of claimants in English litigation regarding the Fundao Dam collapse in Brazil; advising an ad hoc group of bondholders relating to the payment of a make whole premium following a loan event of default; appearing in the Privy Council regarding an application to set aside an international arbitral award on grounds of conflict with public policy; representing a subordinated note holder in connection with a disputed restructuring which resulted in the release of the junior debt; acting for a claimant in connection with an unfair prejudice claim which is on appeal to the Privy Council; appearing in the Court of Appeal in connection with issues as to the validity of a notice of claim in the context of warranty and breach of covenant claims under SPAs; representing retail investors in claims against an investment platform and risk manager.
