Alvaro Arias

Career

Álvaro Arias has more than 10 years of professional experience in intellectual and industrial property.

He specializes in strategy and prosecution of patent applications, utility models, industrial designs at national and international level, state-of-the-art searches, patentability analysis, FTO reports, intellectual assets management policies, and technological surveillance and intelligence reports. He has collaborated with major universities and national companies in the food, veterinary, and plastics sectors to manage and protect their intellectual assets.

Currently, Mr Arias is the Country Managing Director at ClarkeModet Peru.

Mr. Arias worked at the Patent Office of Peru in the technical area of the Inventions and New Technologies Directorate. He has also worked in the Regulatory Affairs department of the Peruvian subsidiary of Merck Sharp & Dohme, the transnational pharmaceutical company, as a technical assistant. Subsequently, he worked for the law firm Estudio Colmenares & Asociados, initially as a patent analyst and later as coordinator of the patent area.

Pharmacy degree and Master’s degree in biotechnology at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos

Specialization in intellectual property and pharmaceutical law at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia

Specialization in Industry 4.0 at CENTRUM Business School – Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
