Andrea Giannelli heads the Banking & Finance and Debt Capital Markets departments of Legance and he is widely acknowledged as a key player in banking, structured finance and DCM transactions. He has been involved in a large number of complex transactions, always being at the forefront of the major bond issues under Euro Medium Term Note / Global Medium Term Note programmes or on a stand-alone basis, liability management transactions, securitisations and other structured finance transactions (including in particular CMBS and NPLs portfolio transfers) as well as bonds placed on domestic and international markets, including innovative capital instruments issued by banks and financial intermediaries for capital adequacy purposes.
Career
Andrea Giannelli is a Senior Partner in Legance since the creation of the Firm in 2007.
Prevoiusly, he was Partner at Gianni, Origoni, Grippo & Partners where he led the Banking and Finance Group of the Milan Office (2002 - 2007).
Before 2002 he was Partner at Simmons & Simmons Grippo, Milan.
In 1999 he obtained a PH.D. in Corporate and Capital Markets Law at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi, in Milan. Andrea Giannelli is a member of the faculty of Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan, where he teaches Banking Law and Financial Institutions and Capital Markets Law. For many years, Andrea Giannelli has cooperated with the Università degli Studi di Brescia, teaching Capital Markets Law and Commercial Law.
Professional Memberships
In 1997 he was admitted to the Milan Bar, Italy.
He is also a member of the faculty of Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan.
