Caroline Musgrave-Cohen is an employment and equality law specialist with particular expertise in discrimination, whistleblowing and equal pay. Caroline acts for companies and individuals, NHS trusts, financial institutions, trade unions and public authorities. She is highly regarded for her commercial sense, strategic approach, incisive and compelling advocacy and exemplary client service. Caroline excels in both in-person and remote video hearings. She has trained solicitors and barristers in how to adapt their preparation and advocacy for remote forums.

Caroline is experienced in conducting internal grievance and disciplinary processes and has been instructed to do so by a range of clients from charities to private businesses. The matters investigated have included breach of duty by C-suite executives, whistleblowing detriment, bullying by senior management, breach of data protection laws and allegations of sex, race and religious discrimination.

Career

Called to the Bar in 2008, Caroline first appeared as a ranked barrister in the legal directories in 2014. Caroline was named as one of the top ten most highly regarded employment law juniors in Who’s Who Legal in 2017 and was appointed as a part-time fee-paid Employment Judge alongside her barrister practice in 2021.

Personal

After graduation from Cambridge University, Caroline worked as a relief and development professional in Rwanda, Pakistan, Indonesia and the UK. As a barrister, Caroline has been instructed for inquest preparation in Afghanistan and spent three months as a visiting fellow at Harvard’s Law School Project on Disability in Boston, USA.
