Work Highlights

Saipem Australia: acted in relation to claims for amounts exceeding $400mil, and defending counterclaims for amounts exceeding $3bn, arising out of a contract to design, procure and construct a gas transmission pipeline of approximately 420km in length commencing in Roma and terminating at an LNG processing facility at Curtis Island.

Bechtel: acted in relation to claims and disputes arising out of multibillion-dollar LNG projects on Curtis Island in Queensland, and in relation to the Pluto project in Western Australia.

Department of Energy and Public Works: advised regarding tender qualifications and proposed contracted amendments in relation to the Nambour Hospital Redevelopment.

Papua New Guinea Ports Corporation: acted in respect of arbitration proceedings arising out of a contract for the design and construction of a wharf.

Cross River Rail Delivery Authority: advised on various claims and potential disputes in relation to the Cross River Rail Project.

Queensland Rail: acted in relation to claims and disputes on the Toowoomba Range Clearance Upgrade Project in relation to extensions of time, delay costs, liquidated damages and train delays.

Leighton Abigroup: acted in a joint venture in relation to various claims and disputes arising out of the $1.8bn Gateway Upgrade project, which included the duplication of the Gateway bridge.

State Government: acting for the State through the Department of Public Works in relation to claims and disputes arising out of the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre project.

Stockland: acted in relation to the Stockland Townsville redevelopment including claims and disputes arising out of the project.

Downer EDI Mining: acting in relation to proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW and previously in the Supreme Court of Queensland in relation to disputes arising out of the Wambo Coal Mine.
