Daniel Ruzumna is a Partner in Patterson Belknap’s Litigation Department and Co-Chair of its White Collar Defense and Investigations group. Mr. Ruzumna is a highly regarded trial lawyer and was inducted in 2021 as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense and related regulatory proceedings, internal investigations, asset forfeiture proceedings, complex financial litigation, and arbitration. He represents corporations and individuals in criminal and regulatory investigations and litigation involving alleged violations of the securities laws, antitrust laws, tax laws, U.S. economic sanctions, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Mr. Ruzumna regularly conducts confidential investigations on behalf of corporate clients, including a professional sports league. He also represents museums, galleries, and collectors in art-related matters.
Career
Mr. Ruzumna clerked in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and spent six years working at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, where he last served as Acting Chief of the Major Crimes Unit.
