Jean-Pierre is Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Restructuring & Reorganization practice, as well head of the Paris Litigation practice. With over 25 years’ experience, Jean-Pierre’s practice spans several areas, including complex M&A litigation, industrial risk, construction, international trade, insurance/reinsurance, equity capital insolvency dispute matters, public and administrative law disputes, and regulatory issues.
Jean-Pierre has represented listed and non-listed industrial companies and financial institutions both before state courts and arbitral tribunals. He has also defended various clients against significant class actions. His work has been instrumental in setting several precedents, among others, the right to a second vote at Board of Directors’ meetings.
Jean-Pierre acts on the most complex and ground-breaking restructuring and reorganization cases. He advises leading global companies in the event of financial difficulties, protecting their interests in multi-jurisdictional restructurings. Working in a fully integrated way with other practice groups, Jean-Pierre is able to address the strategic challenges of clients in a comprehensive and cost-effective manner.
Jean-Pierre regularly advises both debtors and creditors in out-of-court, pre-insolvency and insolvency proceedings. He provides specific high-end expertise in the restructuring of companies in distressed leveraged buyouts (LBO) deals, applying pioneering solutions such as “fiducie” trusts and “golden share” protective arrangements.
