José Carrizo is a Partner and coheads the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group at Morgan & Morgan. She also plays a leading role in the Firm's Arbitration practice area.
He has more than 20 years of experience advising national and multinational clients in all litigation procedures that comprise the Panamanian legislation before the various jurisdictional bodies of the Republic of Panama, including Civil, Administrative and Criminal Courts. His client portfolio includes renowned private companies, banking and financial entities, governmental entities and multinational corporations in a broad array of local and international disputes.
He has participated in complex cases, especially in the areas of civil, criminal, administrative, commercial, banking, insolvency and insurance law. In addition, he has been involved in complex matters related to insolvency processes and restructurings, refinancing, and recovery of portfolios and assets, amounting to several million dollars.
In addition, José has extensive experience in both local and international arbitration proceedings. He has served as an arbitrator in the National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM), based in New York. He has participated as an expert witness in American law before U.S. courts. José is also an active speaker at multiple conferences on arbitration matters and has written about this subject in various national and multinational publications.
