Career
Kathryn Weaver has fifteen years of international employment practice behind her. In January 2023, Kathryn joined Seyfarth as a partner in Hong Kong to head up the firm’s regional cross-border employment practice—her appointment marks a new era for Seyfarth in Hong Kong.
Before joining Seyfarth, Kathryn was the managing partner and the head of the employment practice for an international firm in Hong Kong, after spending ten years practising in London. Kathryn has worked for companies as in-house counsel, giving her the advantage of better understanding the perspective of her clients.

Kathryn is a highly regarded leader in the field of international employment law. She has extensive experience advising multinational employers on all of their Asia-Pacific HR law needs, including the full range of employment law issues, such as problematic terminations, negotiated separation agreements, restrictive covenant disputes and litigation, defending claims in the labour tribunal and courts, discrimination issues, grievances and disciplinaries, performance issues, sickness absence, redundancies and restructuring, data privacy, immigration and benefits.
Leading employers around the world look to Kathryn for practical, holistic, and comprehensive strategies to successfully manage their global workforces, including implementing partnership programmes, coordinating global employee handbook reviews, and drafting template employment documents. She coordinates multi-country data privacy projects and cross-border restructuring, carries out disciplinary and grievance investigations, and advises on senior ex-pat relocation packages.
