Krista Schofer is a partner in Gowling WLG's Calgary office, practising in the Immigration Law, Employment, Labour & Equalities and Privacy Groups.
Krista leads the western Canadian immigration practice, counselling corporate clients seeking to hire foreign nationals in Canada and/or the US and developing strategies to manage global workforces. She has extensive experience advising on Canadian immigration compliance and various Canadian and US temporary and permanent immigration options.
In Krista's management-side employment and labour practice, she advises on human resources, labour relations, human rights and privacy issues, encompassing all aspects of the employment relationship – from hiring issues to performance management, termination and post-employment obligations.
In her privacy practice, Krista advises companies on privacy compliance and data protection issues, including compliance with PIPEDA, provincial privacy laws and laws governing the protection of health information. Krista regularly drafts privacy policies and data protection agreements.
Krista has also been recognized in Chambers Global and recognized as a “Next Generation Partner” in the Legal 500 Canada. In 2022, she was named a Lexpert’s “ Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40”.
