- Represented a prominent offshore USD fund in an equity repurchase and debt settlement dispute against a high-tech enterprise and its founder at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), with a dispute amount exceeding USD 27 million. The arbitration was conducted in English. Successfully assisted the client in securing property preservation in mainland China and compelled the opposing party to settle with a substantial payment before the hearing.

- Represented a well-known offshore USD fund in a loan contract dispute against a domestic medical device company and its founder at HKIAC, with a dispute amount over USD 9 million. Assisted the client in securing property preservation in mainland China and ultimately won a favorable award.

- Represented a leading offshore USD fund in the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court, applying for recognition and enforcement of an HKIAC arbitration award with a dispute amount over USD 27 million (ongoing).

- Represented a renowned offshore USD fund in the Suzhou Intermediate People’s Court International Commercial Division, applying for recognition and enforcement of an HKIAC arbitration award with a dispute amount over USD 6 million (ongoing).

- Represented a leading technology company in an arbitration against an investment company at the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC) concerning a loan and guarantee agreement with a total dispute amount of approximately RMB 150 million. Facilitated a settlement on the entire dispute amount, currently under performance.

- Represented a Hong Kong medical company in an equity repurchase arbitration initiated by investors at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), with the counterparty demanding over RMB 120 million. Successfully reduced the repurchase amount by over RMB 40 million, achieving a favorable outcome for the client.

- Currently providing consulting services to a leading domestic internet company facing potential repurchase disputes with investors, coordinating legal counsel in the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong, with a total dispute amount of approximately USD 80 million.

- Represented an investment company in litigation involving a film investment agreement against a leading domestic film company in the Beijing Chaoyang District People’s Court and the Beijing No. 3 Intermediate People’s Court, with a total dispute amount of approximately RMB 80 million. Achieved a full victory, and the case is now in the enforcement stage.

- Represented a leading domestic gaming company in a series of lawsuits filed by minority shareholders over damage to company interests and rights to information in the Beijing Haidian District People’s Court and the Beijing Chaoyang District People’s Court of Beijing, with a dispute amount exceeding RMB 60 million. Obtained a favorable ruling on damage to company interests, with all cases settled under terms satisfactory to the client.

- Represented a Japanese equipment manufacturer in the Qingdao Intermediate People’s Court, successfully defending against the enforcement of a CIETAC arbitration award, leading to the dismissal of the application.

- Represented a real estate company in an arbitration at CIETAC over a real estate development cooperation framework agreement, with a dispute amount of approximately RMB 250 million. The client’s claims were fully supported.

- Represented a leading domestic gaming company in copyright infringement litigation against another gaming company in the Beijing Haidian District People’s Court and the Beijing Intellectual Property Court, achieving the maximum statutory penalty. This case was selected as one of Beijing Court’s Top 10 Copyright Judicial Cases in 2020.

- Represented a leading domestic entertainment company, as a creditor, in the bankruptcy restructuring process of a debtor, a former leader in mobile gaming, at the Dongcheng District People’s Court of Beijing, with a total debt amount of nearly RMB 150 million.

- In collaboration with a leading international law firm, represented a renowned domestic travel agency in litigation before the Hong Kong High Court against a Hong Kong airline in a contract dispute worth approximately USD 30 million. The initial judgment substantially reduced the client’s compensation liability, achieving a favorable outcome; the case is currently on appeal.

- Assisted a prominent international law firm by providing expert statements on mainland Chinese law in a lawsuit at the Hong Kong High Court, involving a dispute amount of approximately HKD 100 million.

- Represented a Philippine construction company in an independent guarantee fraud dispute at the Beijing No. 4 Intermediate People’s Court, with a dispute amount of approximately USD 20 million. The client’s claims were fully upheld.

- Represented or assisted major airlines, general aviation companies, and their insurers and reinsurers in handling liability incidents and insurance claims, including compensation for the “8.24 Yichun Air Crash”, “11.21 Baotou Air Crash”, and “Asiana Airlines Flight 214 Crash in Los Angeles”, as well as multiple general aviation accidents and numerous claims for aircraft on-ground incidents, cargo damage, and personal injury, addressing both airline liability and insurer responsibilities.

[ Corporate Control Disputes and Shareholder Disputes]

- Represented an overseas investment fund in a control dispute with former management, successfully assisting the current management in confirming and securing control over the company. Also represented the company in a lawsuit filed by former management in the Shanghai Xuhui District People’s Court, disputing the validity of company resolutions, which concluded with the opponent withdrawing the case after two hearings. Additionally, filed a lawsuit against former management in the same court for damages to the company’s interests, involving a dispute amount of approximately RMB 23 million, currently under trial.

- Represented the founder of a unicorn cross-border e-commerce startup in a control dispute, navigating a series of proceedings, including overseas arbitration, domestic litigation, disputes over company seals, and contests over office and financial records. Successfully helped the founder retain and maintain control.

- Represented a leading domestic internet company and its directors and supervisors in response to a series of lawsuits filed by minority shareholders seeking unreasonable gains, including shareholder right-to-know suits and company interest damage disputes in the Beijing Haidian and Chaoyang District People’s Courts and the Beijing No. 3 Intermediate People’s Court, with a dispute amount of nearly RMB 100 million. Achieved a comprehensive first-instance victory in several cases involving company interest damage disputes and subsequently reached a favorable settlement with the opposing party, averting further unnecessary litigation.

- Represented a publicly listed company in multiple criminal accountability cases, including copyright infringement and embezzlement cases, leading to the apprehension of over ten suspects, several of whom received prison sentences.

- Represented a publicly listed company in an intellectual property infringement criminal case, which was recognized as one of the Top 10 Representative Intellectual Property Criminal Cases of 2020 by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.

- Represented the founder of a unicorn high-tech company in responding to a criminal investigation initiated by the former employer with the city’s Public Security Bureau’s economic investigation division for alleged trade secret infringement. Successfully assisted the police in verifying the facts, resulting in the case’s dismissal due to lack of criminal evidence.

- Currently assisting a leading internet service brand with a criminal case involving an employee’s alleged embezzlement in a certain province, including evidence collection, filing a police report, and providing criminal liability risk training for company executives.

- Representing a well-known domestic internet company in a criminal case where a public security authority initiated an investigation related to a contract dispute.

- Conducted an investigation for a U.S.-owned industry-leading company into a distributor’s alleged misconduct, which led to the distributor’s full repayment of nearly one million RMB in misappropriated funds.
