Lorna is a Partner in the Medical Negligence department. She has practiced exclusively in this area of law since qualifying as a solicitor and is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in medical negligence law.
She acts for individuals in a wide range of medical negligence cases, including complex birth damage claims and those arising from surgical errors and missed diagnoses, litigating cases in both the Court of Session and the All-Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court. She understands that making a medical negligence claim can be a difficult process and clients appreciate her calm, patient and compassionate approach. She aims to provide clear and straightforward advice.
She has been described in the Legal 500 as ‘excellent’, ‘a very able lawyer with excellent attention to detail and very good experience in clinical negligence’ and ‘very intellectually able and proactive with excellent interpersonal skills’.
Lorna holds a certificate in Forensic Medicine and Science from the University of Edinburgh and has tutored on both the LLB (Delict) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (Personal Injuries elective) at the University of Edinburgh.
