Practice covers free movement of goods and services, related regulatory and public law, and FRAND and competition law. Experience in many high technology cases, with particular emphasis on computing/IT/internet; broadcasting and telecommunications; and biotechnology/genetic engineering. Extensive experience in the CJEU and European Patent Office.

Recent and notable cases include: Glaxo v Sandoz (Passing off/pharmaceuticals), Argos v Argos Systems (Court of Appeal) Tsit Wing v TWG Tea (Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal), R (BAT) v Sec of State for Health (Ct of Appeal, acting for Sec of State defending tobacco plain packaging regulations), RFU v Viagogo (UK Supreme Court), SAS v WPL (CJEU Grand Chamber). Career

Educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Before called to the Bar, worked for IBM as a systems engineer and contract programmer. Member, Govt Commission on a Bill of Rights for the UK, 2011-12. Appointed Person to hear appeals from UKIPO in designs matters.
