Mary Weeks co-leads Troutman Pepper’s Securities, Corporate Governance + D&O Defense Litigation Group. Mary’s practice encompasses representing corporations and their directors and officers in high-stakes complex commercial, shareholder derivative, and federal securities class action litigation, while also handling related company books and records demands, representing special litigation committees, and navigating other regulatory investigations. Clients turn to Mary for guidance when facing significant allegations of corporate misconduct, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, governance disputes, and other related shareholder matters. Mary has successfully argued and prevailed on dispositive motions in shareholder derivative actions, federal securities class actions brought pursuant to Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and has defeated preliminary injunction motions filed in M&A litigation challenging issuers’ disclosures under Section 14(a) of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934 and state law.
