Matthew O’Callaghan is Head of Freshfields’ financial services practice in Asia and also the managing partner of the Hong Kong office. Matthew specialises in advising and supporting clients through complex transitions and strategic transactions, as well as navigating key regulatory and commercial risks. Matthew advises a broad range of financial institutions including global investment banks, private and wholesale banks, insurers, payment providers as well as pension funds, superannuation trustees and financial sponsors across Asia, Oceania, US and Europe.
