Career
Pilar is an expert lawyer in regulation of the financial sector with broad experience advising in legal and regulatory matters to financial entities including banking, investment services and insurance sector.
Her areas of expertise include sustainable finance regulatory framework, SFDR, MiFID II, PSD2, IDD, EMIR and corporate governance.
Pilar also provides ongoing legal advice to Fintechs and to financial entities regarding regulatory implications of business models and new activities (transparency requirements, licences, legal structure).
In the las few years Pilar has leaded the legal advice to Spanish financial entities regarding their Brexit strategy and implementation.
Pilar has permanent contact with the Spanish Financial Services Supervisors (i.e. Bank of Spain and CNMV) regarding advice in authorization files and supervision of conduct rules.
She holds a Law Degree (2006) and a Business Administration Degree (2006) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Pilar joined KPMG in 2015 after developing her career in PwC Spain and in the Spanish Securities Exchange Commission (“CNMV”). She was promoted to Director in 2017 and to Partner in 2020.
In her previous role in the CNMV Pilar worked in the Entities General Directorate (Supervision and Registry) and the Markets Directorate.
