Career
Tracy represents local authorities, children's guardians, parents (including vulnerable adults requiring additional client care) and children (including older children with the ability to instruct in their own right) and prospective adopters at all levels of court up to and including the Court of Appeal. Tracy regularly appears against King’s Counsel both alone and with another junior; she has also been led by King’s Counsel on numerous occasions
Her cases have involved the death of children, serious non-accidental injury, shaken baby syndrome, sexual abuse (including cases where parents have been falsely accused of sexual abuse by the other parent) fabricated/induced illness (FII), torture and chronic neglect.
Her particular strength is in fact finding hearings where her past experience as a Criminal/Crown Court advocate provides clients with a particular advantage. She is also currently head of the public law children group within chambers and regularly lectures to solicitors and local authorities as part of training programmes. She has appeared in a number of reported cases up to Court of Appeal level; the Court of Appeal noted in one case, her “crisp submissions” which fits with her direct and pointed style of advocacy.
