Angela Hall

Practice Areas

Called to the Bar in 2000, Angela Hall is a property barrister, specialising in social housing. She represents clients at all levels of the civil courts, Property Tribunals and in the Court of Protection, as well as having extensive experience of mediation.

Career

Angela’s practice includes the following: anti-social behaviour; discrimination and other claims under the Equality Act 2010; disrepair; tenancy fraud, including unlawful subletting, benefit and allocation frauds; succession; homelessness; benefit entitlement; GDPR and other regulatory work. Angela is preferred counsel for a number of local authorities/RPSHs and regularly advises on housing policy and procedure.

Angela has a vast experience of cases involving vulnerable individuals, including where a tenant lacks capacity. She has represented local authorities, housing associations and individuals in the Court of Protection.

Angela’s family law background also allows her to give specialist representation on housing issues arising from the breakdown of marriage/relationships, domestic abuse or death, including transfers of tenancies, succession and Children Act duties. She was junior counsel in Mohamoud v Kensington & Chelsea RBC & Others [2015] EWCA Civ 846 on the rights of a child in a housing context.

Angela was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Civil) in 2021.
