Brandon Bang is a senior foreign attorney at Shin & Kim and specializes in international arbitration, covering a broad range of industries and sectors, including construction, M&A, IP and licensing, and reinsurance.
He has conducted proceedings under a wide set of arbitration rules, including ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, LMAA, ICDR—AAA, VIAC (Vietnam) and UNCITRAL Rules, as well as ad hoc proceedings. Before moving to Korea in 2020, he was with Shearman & Sterling's International Arbitration Group in Singapore for around ten years.
In the current edition of The Legal 500 (2024), Mr. Bang has been described as “a stellar arbitration counsel. Exceptionally bright and very astute on all aspects of the legal arguments and commercial considerations”. In previous editions from 2022 to 2024, he has been listed as a "next generation partner" in The Legal 500 Asia—Pacific: South Korea—International Arbitration, which describes him as a "creative thinker who provides pragmatic solutions" and is "easy to work with". He was also recognized as "Asia 40 under 40 2021" and "Asia Super 50 Dispute Lawyers 2022" by Asian Legal Business. He is also nominated as “2024 Stand-out Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters.
While in Singapore, he was featured as a "rising star" in The Legal 500 Asia—Pacific: Singapore—International Arbitration 2020, which describes him as " highly rated". In the previous editions he was featured as a "Next Generation Lawyer" in which clients describe him as "outstanding," note that "his work product is immaculate"(2018) and that he "deals very well with Korean clients" (2019). He was also commended as "efficient and smart" in the India Business Law Journal.
