Helen Hendry is Joint Deputy Head of Park Square Barristers Family Team. She honed her advocacy skills in High Court cases involving the most serious allegations of sexual, physical and emotional abuse of children. In her extensive criminal background she prosecuted and defended the most serious cases. Helen is a tenacious and persuasive advocate.
Helen represents parties in Public and Private Law proceedings involving serious injury eg brain damage and fractures; sexual abuse; child sexual exploitation; addictions; chronic neglect; all forms of domestic abuse.
Her cases involve expert psychological, psychiatric and medical evidence. She is frequently instructed in cases where genetic make up and pre existing conditions give rise to extremely complex medical issues.
Helen has particular skill representing vulnerable people. She works collaboratively with intermediaries and has undertaken specialist Vulnerable Witness training.
When instructed through the Official Solicitor Helen ensures that whilst the instructions of the OS are followed, the wishes and feelings of the assisted party are fully expressed to the court.
In Private Law where problems appear intractable and emotions run high Helen’s approach is empathetic and patient. Her advice is analytical, thoughtful, robust, and always child focussed. She is a skilled negotiator but where agreement cannot be reached she demonstrates fearless commitment to her client’s case in court.
