Kama Melly KC is one of the leading silks on the North Eastern Circuit. She was called in 1997, silk in 2016, Recorder and a Bencher of Middle Temple in 2018.

Kama deals in many high-profile homicides, sexual offences and violent crimes. She has successfully represented private clients including international sportsmen, senior police officers, doctors and teachers.

Kama enjoys immersing herself in the specific area of forensic evidence that the case turns on and as part of her “no stone unturned” approach she has preventing many prosecutions through applications of abuse of process.

Kama provides expert legal analysis to the National Media including BBC Breakfast, SKY news, 5 Live, Victoria Derbyshire and was a regular on “This Morning’s” ‘Legal Eagles’.

Kama is one of 6 National Senior Trainers who have helped develop the National Training for Vulnerable Witnesses.

Kama is the Bar Representative with the MOJ for the scheme to pre-record evidence (s28).
