Practice Areas
Maureen is partner and head of the Technology & Intellectual Property team and the Data Protection & Freedom of Information team in Beauchamps. She advises on all aspects of intellectual property (IP) matters, both contentious and non-contentious, including the clearance, registration, defence and enforcement of IP rights, the commercialisation of IP rights by way of licences, assignments and franchising agreements as well as advises and negotiates IT agreements.
Maureen advises on data protection and freedom of information law including advising on ongoing compliance with the GDPR, access requests, international transfers of data, appeals/complaints to the authorities and on data breaches.
In addition to being a solicitor, Maureen is an Irish Registered Trade Mark Attorney, European Union Trade Mark Attorney and holds a Masters’ Degree in UK, EC and US Copyright Law from King’s College London as well as a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from University College Dublin. She is a member (and former chair) of the Law Society of Ireland's Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law Committee and is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, International Bar Association, the International Trade Mark Association, Marques and ITechLaw. Maureen is a regular speaker at local and international conferences.
