Career
Nishant Shah Is a partner and co-heads the Tax practice of ELP. Nishant has assisted several Indian and multinational firms across sectors on various tax issues in relation to both direct and indirect taxes applicable in India.
Nishant’s areas of expertise include transaction structuring, both domestic and cross border. He has been involved in various tax-efficient transaction structuring assignment within the complex regulatory framework in India.
Nishant has been actively engaged by Indian and global multinationals for various inbound and outbound investment structuring and transfer pricing related assignments. During the course of his career, Nishant has assisted over 30 companies in their India entry tax strategies.
Additionally, Nishant has been engaged in assisting clients in transitioning to the GST regime and continues to assist these organisations in tax optimization through restructuring of their business’ models and supply chains, cross border structuring as well as on tax litigation. His areas of expertise prior to the introduction of GST covered excise, customs, service tax, central sales tax, state levies as well as regulations under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP).
Nishant has also worked extensively with various industry associations and has successfully assisted them in representations before the Central Government and State Governments. Nishant has worked with many foreign and domestic multinationals across sectors including Automotive, Engineering, Real Estate, Technology, Communication, Financial Services, Oil and Gas, Transportation, Logistics, e-commerce, etc.
