Robin is a Harvard Law School graduate and former Deputy Minister with portfolios in Energy, Clean Technology, Mining, Petroleum Resources and Environmental Assessment. He is widely quoted in the media, and clients call on him for a range of regulatory and litigation matters including fair treatment of all parties during Indigenous consultation and reconciliation. As a former Provincial Chief Treaty Negotiator, he helps find pathways to success and win-win situations for Indigenous communities and industry, through project agreements and sophisticated commercial arrangements. Robin was an architect of some of British Columbia’s most important environmental legislation such as the Environmental Management Act and the Clean Energy Act, and has served as Chair of the B.C. Oil and Gas Commission (now BC Energy Regulator). He has also served as a government appointed mediator and facilitator in a broad range of complex regulatory and public policy disputes, as well as a Law Clerk to the BC Court of Appeal.
