Susan Kidwell

Susan A. Kidwell has practiced in Locke Lord's Appellate Group for more than 20 years. She has handled over 100 appeals, including 25 in which she has presented oral argument before the Supreme Court of Texas, the Idaho Supreme Court, the Fifth and Tenth Circuits, and intermediate appellate courts in Texas, California, and Mississippi. Susan is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers” in appellate practice by The Best Lawyers in America, and has also been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list for appellate practice. In addition to her appellate practice, Susan regularly represents insurers in first- and third-party coverage disputes. She has spoken at numerous CLEs on topics including state and federal appeals, summary judgments, exhaustion of administrative remedies, standards of review in administrative appeals, arbitration and personal jurisdiction. Prior to joining Locke Lord, Susan served as a law clerk to the Supreme Court of Texas.
