Carlos Eduardo Acedo taught Contractual Liability and Torts in the Postgraduate Courses of Commercial Law at the Central University of Venezuela from 1989 to 1992; and has often given conference talks on legal subjects, in Venezuela and abroad.
Carlos Eduardo Acedo was an Auxiliary Lawyer of the Political and Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice from 1991 to 1994; and, as such, prepared the drafts of several Supreme Court of Justice decisions and dissenting opinions, for Justice Luis Henrique Farías Mata. Carlos Eduardo Acedo was an ad honorem Legal Assistant to the Minister of Finance from 1994 to 1995, under Minister Julio Sosa Rodríguez.

Carlos Eduardo Acedo is one of the 35 members (individuos de número), appointed for life, of the Academy of Social and Political Sciences, which is the most prestigious body of lawyers of Venezuela, created by law more than one hundred years ago.

Carlos Eduardo Acedo’s books are: the Role of Negligence in Tortious Liability in Venezuelan Law Compared to French and Italian Law (doctoral thesis at the University of Paris II); Insurance Law Topics (coauthored with Manuel Acedo Mendoza); and Abusive Clauses and Standard-Form Contracts (book presented upon incorporation at the Academy of Social and Political Sciences).
