Esther Kinyenje is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch and recently retired from membership of the board of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration. Her areas of practice include competition law, intellectual property and commercial disputes. She has carved a niche as legal counsel for employers in major trade and industrial relations disputes. She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Kenya Branch.
Career
Successfully defended a class action suit brought by former employees of Unilever claiming approximately USD 4,200,000; successfully defended OPIC an international financier in securities litigation whereby OPIC was able to liquidate its security resulting in the payment of US $ 5,814,341,46 to OPIC; successfully represented Kenya Tea Growers Association in a landmark CBA dispute.
