Peter Hime has 50 years of practising experience as an IP lawyer and is widely recognised as one of the leading IP lawyers in Kenya. He handles trade mark related applications, trade mark and copyright licensing agreements and franchising agreements and expungement and opposition proceedings on trade marks. He is consistently ranked by several international legal ranking publications. For example, Chambers Global ranks him as a band 1 lawyer for intellectual property and the World Trade Mark Review described him as ‘the country’s foremost IP mind.’ Peter’s contribution to IP practice has included being a key contributor to drafting amendment legislation governing trade mark law in Kenya and contributing to two annual INTA publications.
Career
Advises overseas aircraft leasing companies and overseas banks on aircraft leases. Clients include Kenya Airways and GECAS. Acts for large multinantionals on trade mark oppositions, expungements, infringement and counterfeit actions.
