Career
Leah Freed is a shareholder in the Phoenix office. She has exclusively practiced management-side labor and employment law throughout her career. Leah is a skilled and experienced litigator who regularly defends employers against claims of race, gender, disability, and age discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, FMLA claims, and wage and hour violations before federal and state courts and various administrative agencies.
In addition to her litigation practice, Leah regularly advises employers on day-to-day employment issues, litigation avoidance and compliance with state and federal employment laws. She has substantial experience advising employers on internal investigations, reasonable accommodations and leave issues, employee discipline and termination, wage and hour compliance, personnel policies and handbooks, reductions in force, drug testing, trade secrets, workplace torts, as well as negotiating and drafting employment, restrictive covenant and severance agreements.
Leah is a truly national partner to her clients. She has handled lawsuits in a number of jurisdictions, including the state courts of Alabama, Arizona, California and Colorado, along with federal lawsuits in the following jurisdictions: the District of Arizona, the Southern District of California, the District of Colorado, the Eastern District of Louisiana, the District of New Mexico, the District of Ohio, the District of Oregon, the District of Minnesota, the District of South Carolina, the Western District of Tennessee, and the Southern District of Texas. She has also successfully handled multiple appeals before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits.
Leah currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee.
