Chris is a highly experienced lawyer who leads Dentons Kensington Swan's corporate team. He helps overseas and local organisations establish themselves in NZ through mergers and acquisitions, equity structuring and shareholder arrangements.
Specialising in mergers and acquisitions, Chris advises clients across a range of sectors, with particular expertise in technology, health, food/beverages and infrastructure.
His deals experience includes managing competitive sales processes, advising on complex multi-jurisdictional due diligence engagements, the impacts of the Overseas Investment Act, and coordinating all aspects of a transaction. He also advises companies in relation to equity investments and the resulting corporate structuring and shareholder arrangements.
Chris advises international corporates with operations in NZ and local businesses in relation to their commercial and corporate law requirements, and acts as liaison partner for a number of multinationals, such as WPP AUNZ, Downer, Bridgestone, George Weston Foods, Universal Music, Oji Fibre Solutions, Luxottica and Unilever.
Working closely with the firm’s infrastructure clients on corporate and commercial matters, Chris has been involved in various aspects of each of the PPPs brought to market in NZ. In 2020 he was heavily involved advising on changes to the contracts for the P2Wk roading PPP project arising from the impact of COVID-19.
