Nicky is sought after by clients for her experience in obtaining Resource Management Act authorisations complex infrastructure projects. Her expertise has been instrumental to the development of projects critical to New Zealand’s progress, including high voltage transmission lines, wind farms, hydro-electric power generation, water reservoirs, marine farms, bridges, ferry terminals, ports, bus ways and shared use paths (pedestrian and cycleways), and roading (both State highways and local roads).
Nicky also advises on compliance and enforcement issues which can arise during the construction of these projects, as well planning frameworks which can operate to protect assets from the activities of third parties.
She advises a range of clients including government agencies, local government, and council-controlled organisations, as well as Māori entities, vineyard operators, commercial property developers, and construction companies. She works closely with in-house planners, project managers and technical experts, and liaises with in-house counsel.
Nicky enjoys working in large multi-disciplinary teams. She has worked collaboratively with the full spectrum of project specialists - engineers, planners, ecologists, landscape architects, urban designers, archaeologists, transport engineers, noise experts and others.
