Brian Carey is a Partner in Foley Hoag’s Health Care and Life Sciences practice group based in the Washington and Boston offices. He advises a wide range of life sciences companies and health care providers on federal legal, regulatory and legislative policy matters impacting the commercialization of novel technologies. Over the past two decades, Brian's insight and knowledge of the life sciences sector has guided numerous biotechnology, medical device companies, health care providers through the regulatory pathways to successfully launch new technologies.
Brian has deep experience with biopharma and medical technology companies on Medicare coverage and payment, and food and drug approval issues for innovative technologies. In particular, Brian has extensive experience advising cell and gene therapy companies on coverage, coding and payment considerations. In recent years, he has counseled leading clinical laboratory and molecular diagnostic companies on the evolving regulatory and reimbursement requirements for Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).
